Being a member of the Crossway family is a great way to connect with other people and to be a part of making us who we are together.
Membership in the Body of Christ
Everyone who has put their trust in Christ is a member of the body of Christ. This body includes all people, in any country and across time, who also have put their trust in Christ. See Ephesians 2:11-22.
Membership in a Local Church
The Bible teaches everyone who is a member of the body of Christ also to be an active part of a local church, that is, a local community of people who are in Christ, and who join together in seeking Christ and His ways. See Hebrews 10:19-25 and Ephesians 4:1-13.
Membership in the Crossway family
Everyone is invited to attend Crossway and to be a part of our community. People are also invited to consider becoming a member of the church in a formal sense. It is a way to express the mutual commitment to spur each other on, and support each other, in following Jesus together.
It is also a way to help us be orderly in how we work together. There is a small set of things that are only available to members of the church. In particular, only members can serve as members of the Nominating Committee, as Board Members, and as Board Member/Elders. (There may be additional roles that require membership, depending upon the specific areas of the church.) And only members can vote on the major decisions of the church, such as approving the budget, affirming people to serve on those three main teams, and when selecting a new lead pastor.
